SCENE 1 

Adam heads towards a corner shop while listening to music (bopping his head) 

ADAM (CHARACTER 1) 

‘Evening Bossman’ (Adam says to shopkeeper) 

(Shopkeeper is suspicious of Adam) 

(Adam runs out of shop with a bottle of alcohol) 

BOSSMAN (SIDE CHARACTER 1) 

‘Oi get back here’ 

(Bossman runs out of shop and see Adam was hit by a car and looks at his phone screen then fades into black) 

 

Scene 2 

Adam (Character 1) 

(Adam slowly opens his eyes) 

‘WHAT HAPPENED?’ 

(Frazier talks) 

‘What A year!’ (Winches in pain after moving too fast.) 

‘That’s fucking crazy’ 

(Improvised Conversation) 

(After this conversation Adam Musters enough strength to go to the bathroom.) 

(He Hears whispers in his head though he ignores he assumes it is because he just woke up.) 

(Frazier Talks) 

Adam hears what Frazier has to say and after washing his face he walks back into the room and speaks  

‘I do what I have to, so I can survive not everyone is born with competent parents that don’t neglect you, your whole life’ 

(Frazier Talks) 

‘Fuck you’ 

Adam walks out and slams the door behind him) 

FRAZIER (CHARACTER 2) 

Frazier Replies ‘some assholes hit you and drove off, bro I was so worried about you. You’ve been in a coma for over a year’ 

(Adam talks) 

(Improvised Conversation) 

‘You know if you weren’t such a fuckwit and didn’t try and rob Bossman you would’ve been fine’ 

(Adam enters back into the room and talks) 

‘Stealing a bottle of alcohol isn’t gonna help you survive what's gonna help you survive is by working hard and focusing on something that isn’t a waste of time and talent. Don’t use your parents as an excuse people who are in far worse situations make it out without the help of their parents. 

(Adam talks and walks out) 

Frazier says ‘I shouldn’t have said that’ 

 

 

Scene 3  

 

Adam (Character 1)  

(In this scene there will be a montage of committing various crimes and doing narcotics and various other activities each one of these will represent one of the seven deadly sins.) 

Scene 4 

Frazier (Character 2) 

(While looking for Adam, he finally spots him walking he runs up to him and tries to reason with Adam) 

 (IMPROVISED CONVERSATION) 

(Adam talks) 

‘When we get back ill order us some food and we can just chill out after we make a statement to the police.’ 

(Adam talks) 

Adam (Character 1) 

(IMPROVISED CONVERSATION) 

(Adam agrees to come with Frazier back to the house) 
‘Ok ill come back’ 

(Frazier talks) 

(Adam shouts) ‘You fucking called the feds on me’ 

(Before Fraizer can talk Adam punches him and then stabs him repeatedly as he is filled with rage after calming down, he notices what has happened this represents the sin of wrath.) 

Screen dips to black 

 

Scene 5 

Adam (Character 1) 

‘What did I do?’ 

‘What did I do?’ 

‘What did I do?’ 

‘WHY DID I DO IT?’  

‘WHY?’ 

‘WHY!’ 

 

Scene description: 

 (We see Adam on a rooftop on the ledge in a manic state not knowing what he has done he beings to question the voices in his head police sirens can be heard suddenly Adam stops to a halt and walks to edge the police sirens cannot be heard no longer and all that can be heard is a piercing ear ringing noise the screen then dips to white.)

  This was our original mind map. In this mind map we had the first scene which was the main character robbing a shop and then running out and getting hit by a car giving him the deadly six sins. As we went to 3 different shops and each shop said that we would be unable to film inside so we had to change the scene and make our character get knocked out in a different way. This ended up changing the plot of the film completely as we then changed our character to just be a bad person who committed crimes instead of a person who had a mental illness of the six deadly sins. Although the character changed we wanted to keep the scenes as similar as we could, the first scene which was a robbing scene, we changed from a shop to a house and had the main character robbing a house instead and then instead of getting hit by a car we had a ball be thrown at the robber and the robber dodging the ball and smacking his head on a brick wall causing him to be knocked out and put in a coma. LO1 analysis of short-film conventions

  This critical acclaimed short film called "lights out" is a popular short film with over fifteen million views on YouTube and Vimeo. The film does a great job at building atmosphere and tension while making you believe you are also in the scenes. For example the shots under the bed covers with the women are great at making the audience feel claustrophobic and showing the emotions of the women in great detail. To me it felt sweaty, hot and uncomfortable whenever there was a shot under the covers. This is because the listing was dark and the voice acting showed the fear in the women's voice.

LO4: Evaluating Feedback

 After finishing our film, we shared our film the film in a screen test and sent the viewers a Survey created using Surveymonkey.co.uk. The feedback that was given back to us was precise and informative, each question asked in the survey was made with the purpose of showing us how we can improve our product, if we were to re-shoot scenes again and also to gather praise if the viewer thouhgt neccesarry.  Q1. How was the acting? Most people who answered this question stated that the acting from Ellis, Me, and Toby the was great and elevated the narrative of the film. This proved to us that our choice of casting was exceptional for the film. However personally I do believe that it isn't perfect, as there were many times where the actors broke character within a scene. To combat this when filming, we filmed multiple takes of the shots and used the best take from each scene.
