LO2 setting up equipment video
Photo/ Video evidence of us setting up equipment.
For most of the film we used handheld camera shots as they highlighted tense scenes between Ellis and Toby's character. Many scenes are in enclosed rooms, and the shaky camera shots will hopefully immerse the audience into the scene. A particular shot that works well with this is in scene three, in which Ellis walks up to the person who's house he robbed. The over the shoulder shaking camera shot used immerses the audience, making them feel as if they a behind Ellis watching followings movement.
To secure the safety of the cast and crew of this project, we have been taken measure that have abled us to be more careful on set. We have written recces and risk assessments that have been sent to all the crew which shows ways that we can stay safe while filming in certain areas. This included filming at quiet times when near roads so that cars and pedestrians wouldn't endanger us when filming. Also, we filmed mostly in our homes which lowered the level of danger the crew were in. However, even with this, some scenes we shot (such as the murder scene) had some of the actors use a knife in a scene. So, to ensure that we abided health and safety protocol, we used a fake knife in scenes that required it to be pointed at other actors. This is apparent during the cut in which Ellis runs at Toby stabing him with the knife.
